NATO Air Base training center – Pápa
AIRCRAFT TRAINING SYSTEM FACILITY DEVELOPMENT
Simulator Mission at Pápa Air Base
On behalf of the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), NATO Airlift Management Program Office (NAM PO), Realiscon contributed to the development of a new aircrew training facility under the Strategic Airlift Capability (SAC) program HDF 47th Air Base at Pápa, nicknamed “Panther.” SAC provides world-class strategic military airlift capacity for its 12 member nations, including Hungary, with C-17 crew training being a vital component of its mission.
The project began in December 2023 and was successfully completed in April 2025, delivering a 1,438 m² training facility. At its heart stands a 14-meter-high simulator bay, complemented by a single-storey wing housing offices, workshops, classrooms, and briefing rooms. Sustainability was a priority: a high-performance rooftop solar system, energy-efficient heat pumps, and EV charging points support environmentally conscious operation.
Thanks to Realiscon’s NATO Supplier qualification and previous experience with simulator facility developments, we were entrusted with technical supervision, cost management, HSE oversight, and quality management. We are proud to have played a role in this prestigious international defence project.
