Located on Dohány Street in Budapest’s vibrant 7th district, The Honest Budapest by Chic & Basic (formerly SOHO Hotel) underwent a comprehensive interior refurbishment in 2025. The four-star property was fully reimagined — from guest rooms to public areas including the lobby, bar, and restaurant — to meet the expectations of today’s urban travellers.
The new interior concept was created by the renowned Spanish Furtivo Studio, introducing a bold, contemporary identity throughout the hotel. High-quality bespoke furniture sourced directly from Spain complements the design transformation. Alongside the aesthetic renewal, the mechanical systems were also modernised to further enhance guest comfort and operational efficiency.
Fast-Track Delivery Under a Defined Budget
Realiscon joined the project in August 2024 during the design phase. Our scope included full Project Management and Cost Management (QS), covering contractor tendering, coordination of demolition and construction works, and supervision through to final furnishing and approvals.
Construction works commenced in early 2025 under a tight schedule and clearly defined investment framework. Precise coordination and structured cost control were essential to ensure timely completion. The hotel successfully reopened to guests by autumn 2025.
A Refreshed Urban Identity
Today, the renewed hotel welcomes visitors with 68 rooms and 8 junior suites, offering a stylish and comfortable urban retreat in one of Budapest’s most dynamic districts. The combination of contemporary Spanish design, bespoke furnishings, and upgraded technical systems creates a fresh, inviting atmosphere aligned with the Chic & Basic brand identity.
