The new headquarters of the Hungarian Ornithological and Nature Conservation Society (MME, BirdLife Hungary) was completed in 2025 at Mocsárosdűlő. After more than four decades, the organisation has moved into a new home – one that is not only a setting for nature conservation, but part of it.
Named after Egon Schmidt, the centre consists of three buildings with a total area of 620 sqm, providing space for professional work, education and community activities. The design approach focused on ensuring that the buildings do not stand apart from their environment, but work with it – from material choices to water management solutions.
Realiscon contributed to the project in the role of projectmanagement and technicalsupervision, supporting delivery from design through to construction.
With the move-in this year, the centre is not only open, but truly alive. And, as expected – the birds did not wait long to arrive.
