From Post Office to Apartments

The four-star superior Kenese Bay Garden hotel in Balatonkenese, located directly on the shore of Lake Balaton, launched a new development project in 2025 to further expand its guest capacity. As part of the project, a nearby building formerly operating as a post office was converted into four apartment units with a total floor area of approximately 200 m².
The aim of the development was to create apartment units connected to the hotel’s existing services while offering guests greater privacy and accommodation suitable for longer stays. The transformation included a complete interior refurbishment and full mechanical modernization, while the building’s existing characteristics also had to be adapted to the new operational concept.

Representing Operational Interests Throughout the Development

Realiscon was commissioned by Accent Hotels to provide technical representation throughout the entire project. Our role included representing the operator’s interests and requirements towards the owner and contractors, monitoring the technical scope, and continuously coordinating project progress. Particular attention was paid to ensuring that the new apartment units would integrate efficiently into the hotel’s long-term operational and service standards.

Expanding the Balaton Hospitality Experience

As a result of the development, Kenese Bay Garden expanded with four new apartment units, further strengthening the hotel’s premium accommodation offering on the shores of Lake Balaton.
