Burger King Drive-In Csepel
DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW RESTAURANT
A Sustainable Drive-In for Budapest’s Csepel District
Next to Csepel Plaza, an underutilized site was transformed into a renewed urban space, where the district’s first Burger King restaurant opened in early 2026.
The 334 m² building achieved Class “A” energy performance and operates with zero direct emissions, using a fully electric heating-cooling system and heat-recovery ventilation for efficient operation.
The green roof and living façade not only add visual appeal but also improve local air quality and help mitigate the urban heat-island effect. As part of the wider development, landscaped public areas, diverse plantings, an automatic irrigation system, and new walkways were completed, creating an accessible pedestrian link between the plaza and the surrounding public spaces.
Realiscon acted as technical supervisor throughout the project, monitoring construction quality and progress in line with the plans, while also overseeing the implementation of the utility connections and the landscaped areas associated with the development.
