Grand Hotel Savoy 4-star
HOTEL DEVELOPMENT
Reimagined
The Grand Hotel Savoy on József Boulevard was originally built as a residential building at the turn of the 20th century and converted into a hotel in 1910. At the time, it was considered one of the most modern hotels in Budapest. By the early 2000s, however, the unused property had fallen into significant disrepair, although its heritage listed façade was renovated in 2013. Later acquired by Austria’s EST Hotels & Residences, the building was earmarked for a complete refurbishment to restore its former prestige.
Presence and Active Attention
Realiscon joined the project in December 2020, taking over as Project Manager and Technical Supervisor for an investment that was already underway but had stalled. Assuming responsibility for such a project posed a significant challenge, as it required us to quickly assess the situation, rethink objectives, and steer processes back in the right direction.
To achieve this, it was essential to establish a strong on-site presence — in manpower, attention, and expertise — something our team was uniquely equipped to provide. Thanks to this focused approach, construction progressed at a dynamic pace throughout 2021, continuing seamlessly through to the final works. This resulted in the successful completion of approximately 4,400 sqm of space, from the basement to the 7th floor, including around 100 guest rooms, all delivered to the expected quality.
In parallel with construction, we coordinated the remaining design processes, while managing the constraints of a downtown location and the complexity of working with multiple international contractors. These challenges were addressed through careful scheduling, clear communication, and rigorous quality control, ensuring the project was successfully completed.
A Renewed Chapter of Comfort and Elegance
The renovated Grand Hotel Savoy now features 100 guest rooms, an elegant lobby, a stylish bar and bistro, and a rooftop terrace offering panoramic city views. Additional amenities include a wellness area with sauna, a fitness centre and relaxation spaces, as well as a conference hall for business events. The redevelopment has breathed new life into this building of over a hundred years, blending its heritage with the modern comfort and functionality today’s guests expect.
