Urban Renewal in the Heart of the City

In the vibrant 7th district of Budapest, the long-established The Honest Budapest by Chic & Basic Hotel has undergone a complete transformation to meet the expectations of a new generation of travellers. From guest rooms to public areas – lobby, bar, and restaurant – every interior space has been reimagined to create a youthful, contemporary atmosphere. The interior design, created by the renowned Spanish studio Furtivo, features high-quality bespoke furniture imported directly from Spain. Alongside the design refresh, mechanical system upgrades further enhance guest comfort.

Delivering a Fast-Track Transformation
We joined the project in August 2024 during the design phase, working to bring the bold new concept to life under tight deadlines and a defined budget. Our responsibilities covered full project management and quantity surveying (QS), from overseeing the contractor tendering process – concluded in January 2025 – to managing all demolition and construction works through to final furnishing and approvals. The renovation followed an exceptionally compressed schedule, requiring precise coordination and strict oversight at every stage.

Completed in summer 2025, the renewed The Honest Budapest by Chic & Basic Hotel now welcomes guests with a striking new look and a fresh, inviting atmosphere across 68 rooms and 8 suites. The combination of bold contemporary design and high-quality Spanish furnishings offers a stylish and comfortable urban retreat in one of Budapest’s most dynamic districts.
